I did not forget about my goal, although it's pretty hard to get there (because it's hard to stick to it). I did run today and ate something high protein after/low glycemic after. THe warrior diet is very very effective but I kinda slipped off of it for a few days and the weight loss stopped-however it was easy to keep once on it. :(

Today was soo stressful. The semester is almost over, I have a ton of work to do and deadlines to meet. It was so hot out today too and I had no water and no wallet, I was sooooo dehydrated. I snacked on grapes and mozarella cheese today when I got home...I had some grapes an hr before running and then I had some mozarella cheese after (protein), then I ate my meal at like 8:30 PM, it consisted of this eggplant dish, fresh made bread and yogurt and a litttle bit lentils. It was satisfying. It may sound odd but this is really working I believe. It totally goes against the mainstream view of how you should eat and diet. I was confused as to weather I should stop this but I just realized I dropped 1.4lbs since I started on Friday eating this way. Undereating during the day/"overeating" at night. I also went running and that helps a lot! What I love is that I don't have to feel guilty about eating carbs (although if you want to lose weight, you should restrict it before better results but still!) I'm going to continue this until May 20th and then make my decision as to weather this is the right thing for me to do (depending on how i feel and look).

I feel great on this new lifestyle change. I feel so much better, its day 3. My energy levels are great and I am much more focused-and I don't feel so fatigued and stuffed. I love it. And I still get to eat good food in the end, as long as I have my salad and protein (finish off with carbs in the end-anything really just portion the carbs). I looove it. As for losing weight, lost about .5 lb in 3 days. Per week, I can expect about 2lb loss, maybe more if I follow it completely-which I completely want to starting now. I'm really excited about this. My goal is to lose 8lb by May 20th without losing health (which is completely possible as long as the one meal I eat is nutritious. Being a vegetarian, I need to start eating lots more protien. I've also been working out and I work out so much better on an empty stomach. Love ittttt.

Okay, forget most of the things I wrote in this blog.
I'm going on the Warrior Diet. I am on it, and I feel great. I read half the book already by Ori Hofmekler. I, however can not disclose to anyone that I am doing this because they would obviously view it as unhealthy-and I really don't believe it is. Especially the FDA-screw everything the FDA says. My boyfriend, who is slim and muscular at once, looks great and healthy. He always told me he usually does not eat breakfast, sometimes not even lunch. He eats dinner though, I used to think this was absured and malnourished-and I could not believe how healthy he looked. I used to try to get him to eat more. He doesn't even follow the warrior diet, that's just how his appetite is.
Anyway, basically what this diet is is not a diet. It is a lifestyle change (meaning you don't or shouldn't go back) and you will be eating one meal a day. Through the day, if you'd like to or need to, you can eat live foods such as fruits and vegetables, and if necessary a small serving of protein. 16-18 hours after your last meal, you will have your meal of the day. You can eat whatever you want (but obviously you should choose healthy), in fact- you will want to eat healthy and not crave junk.
Today was my first day on it and I FELT GREAT. I had one apple and tea in the morning. I also even went running and my endurance was better!!! All on an empty stomach. Around 6:30 PM I had my meal. I had this ginger rice dish (white), salmon and some potatoes. I ate until I was fullish (not stuffed, more so pleasantly satisfied). I even think I could have waited another hour or two, but because I had just gone running I wanted to replenish my muscles.
The reason why this diet should work is because....well I don't feel like explaining right now. But if you care for your health and are interested to know more-read the book by Ori Hofmekler "The Warrior Diet". I thought I would be feeling really crappy but I wasn't. I did have my Fasting tea, which helped with that. I would never do anything to jeapordize my health. After reading this book and it's very reasonable scientific explanations, I felt it was worth a shot. I can't believe that after one day of this, I am feeling amazing. I am feeling so satisfied. Also, the plus side to this is not only the health benefits, but also weight loss! Anyway, I don't believe everything I read and question everything. Since I have a good knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology-the scientific explanations in this book made a lot of sense and it didn't look like he was pulling them out of his ass. I am going to continue with trying this. If I feel this is a great lifestyle change and get positive side effects, I will stick to it.
I will continue updating this journey on The Warrior Diet. I hope it lives up to my expectations. I encourage people to read the book. Who knows, it may not work for everyone. I also looked up youtube videos on this and majority of all people making videos on it are very satisfied :)

Scratch having just salad for dinner, I had brown rice with lentils that my mother made. I couldn't turn it down-especially because it's so healthy. BUT I did go ride my bike for 20 more minutes before eating that and I went to the mall for a bit (which meant walking around, and I walked fast). I bought a really cute pair of running pants to match my running sneakers. My boyfriend was just like "I don't get why you need such a good looking running outfit"- haha. My bf has a six pack and fit body. It's so annoying that my progress may be slow because I want to be confident this summer, but I'll keep going. I was thinking that I really should make a list of low calorie-nutrient dense food. I am not willing to give up muscle, minerals and nutrition honestly (especially because I already lack muscle). Also, I'm really falling in love with running-there's even an entire store dedicated to it in the mall!
Check out this website for benefits of running:

I couldn't find a bikini that I liked. I don't want to buy a really nice one until I lost at least 10lb of fat.
I haven't been counting calories like crazy like I was last week. I do it with this app on my itouch. I need to go back to doing that, I ate less when I did. I also am going to portion out my snacks instead of just taking some out of the package with the whole package just sitting there next to me. I have a habit of going in for more (ew). I find that it helps to not continue munching if you portion your food out and just leave the kitchen. It's only the second week and I'm learning. If I can lose at least 10lb in 2months I'd be really happy.

I'm feeling a bit upset with how slow my weight loss may be. Despite I work out (running-great excercise) and cut calories/watch myself, my weight loss will be slower than the person who is doing crazy calorie cutting. My weight loss though, will also be healthier. This blog is about me paving my path to health, but I really want to be ready 2 months. I wish I hadn't started so late. I came across this website:
Running for weight loss- prepare to be patient
But I am focused on becoming healthy not just thin. I am a nutrition major going into the health field afterwards after all. I don't know what to do!! Should I just do the quick fix first and then continue my healthy way? Running is one of the best excercises even though it's not the fastest weight loss way. I know you can lose weight quick but quick weight loss is not the best way. If you lose it after some time, it takes more effort to gain it back as well. If you lose it quicker, you'll gain it quicker too. :(
Today I ran 1.5 miles and did 2 miles on my bike. I had a bananna (which really are not fattening at all FYI)and a little piece of avocado prior. Afterwards, I indulged in 180 calories worth of pancakes with no syrup (plain and portioned). I made sure everything was okay in terms of fat/carb content. It was lowfat-and I needed some carbs so my body wouldn't deplete protein after that long workout (which was 50minutes). I actually should have had protein but whateverrr. I only had like 5g protein from that. I forgot I had that Horizon Organic chocolate milk (which is meant for me to drink after my workouts, containing 22g carbs, 8g protein, 150 calories).
It's 4:30 and I had about 370 calories so far, and I'm feeling quite satisfied food wise. I will not have anything but salad for dinner tonight unless I feel a headache coming in-In that case I'll have some fruit too.
I have to figure out the quickest healthiest way to lose weight for the 1st 2 months (so I can look decent in a swimsuit) and then I'll go on to my slow, best way.

I didn't really count calories today. I was on the go all day but I snacked/went out to eat with my boyfriend. I definitely didn't overrreat. I also ran 2.2 miles and did 30sit ups. not a lot, I could have gone longer but my head was pounding, and it still is (it always happens when I push myself when running, sucks). At the restaraunt we just shared. I had some of his rigatoni a la vodka and cesar salad (small portions)-this was about 45min after running. I also ate prior to running. I had breakfast and snacked on matzo sticks at my friends house between breakfast and eating before running, I also had some avocado as a snack. I didn't do terrible or anything. But, again, I can definitely do better. A big change in my diet is that I stopped snacking and picking food like I used to. Although I did it somewhat today, it was in control and portioned, like I didn't feel stuffed. It's my second week of doing this and I do see differences in my eating habits. I still would like to do better. I wasnt too happy with what I ate before running, it was more like some random snacks not really a proper meal :(. I just didn't know what to eat and I needed to eat quick so I can digest and run sooner. I just got a case of Horizon Organic Chocolate milk which is one of my favorite low calorie snacks or before/after running foods as it is light, has protein and carbs, lowfat, calcium and vitamin d and all that good stuff...I'm going to tryyy to do 3miles tommorow. I don't know if I'm ready yet since I start feeling overdone when I hit 2 miles (of course I do intervals though). Whatever the case may be, I'll do 2 miles at least for now.
I'm also scared out of my mind to be alone. I live in a good, safe neighborhood but with all the things I see on the news today-everytime a car slows down near me I freaak out. I've also had some frightening experiences as a female walking alone, and in neighborhoods that are supposed to be really safe, but no where's really safe. People can go anywhere. It's really distracting to deal with this issue when running.
Now that I have some of my favorite, low calorie nutritious foods in stock, I will do better. I really want this swimsuit from victorias secret and I need to speed up this weight loss.
